The Foundation of Laguna Woods Village is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members. Founded in 1997 by a thoughtful group of residents, our non-profit corporation is dedicated to raising and distributing funds to provide temporary financial assistance and support to the seniors of Laguna Woods Village, a vibrant senior community of 18,000 residents in South Orange County, CA.

To provide temporary financial and emergency assistance to Laguna Woods Village residents in need, enhancing their quality of life and maintaining the dignity they deserve.

A charitable organization dedicated to fostering a sustainable and healthy community where neighbors help neighbors. We strive to ensure that every resident of Laguna Woods Village has access to the support and resources needed to face financial and health-related challenges.
What We Do
The Foundation offers a lifeline during times of unexpected hardship by providing:
- Emergency Assistance: This includes supermarket cash cards, payments for prescriptions, and bill payments for essential services such as utilities, medical and dental care, caregiver services, and more.
- Transportation Support: We provide taxi vouchers for travel to healthcare providers throughout Orange County and gas cards to ensure residents can reach critical services.
- Partnership with Age Well Senior Services: Through this collaboration, we fund important programs that directly benefit the residents of the Village, enhancing their day-to-day lives.
Key Programs Funded by The Foundation
- Individual Financial Aid: We assist residents needing temporary financial help with medical expenses, utility bills, and food costs.
- Meals on Wheels Program: Home-bound residents who are unable to shop or cook for themselves receive nutritious meals delivered daily by fellow Village residents.
- Adult Day Care Center: This center offers health, therapeutic, and social activities for residents, providing essential respite and peace of mind for caregivers.
Who We Are
The Foundation is powered by an all-volunteer board of dedicated Village residents. We closely collaborate with the Village’s Department of Social Services, which identifies and qualifies residents in need. When no other support options are available, Social Services recommends specific bills for The Foundation to cover directly to the providers, ensuring the privacy and dignity of the residents we help.
