The Foundation of Laguna Woods Village is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, established in 1997 by a small group of residents who recognized a pressing need within our community. Their mission is to raise and distribute charitable funds to provide temporary financial and emergency assistance to qualifying residents in our senior community of 18,000 residents in South Orange County, CA.
Their work is nothing short of life-changing. The foundation provides essential emergency assistance through supermarket cash cards, prescription payments, utility bill payments, medical and dental expenses, caregiver and respite care services, taxi vouchers for health care visits within Orange County, and gas cards. These services are a lifeline for many of our neighbors during times of need.
In addition to direct emergency assistance, the foundation also funds programs through Age Well Senior Services, which directly benefit Village residents. For example, the Meals on Wheels Program delivers three meals a day to home-bound residents who can no longer shop and cook for themselves, ensuring they receive nutritious meals and a friendly visit each day.
The Adult Day Care Center is another fantastic initiative supported by the foundation. This center provides health and therapeutic services, along with social activities for our residents, offering respite and peace of mind to caregivers.
