Laguna Woods Village residents, are you ready to saddle up for some fun and support a cherished community treasure? The Saddle Club of Laguna Woods Village invites you to become part of an exciting and engaging social organization dedicated to enriching our vibrant community and enhancing our beloved Equestrian Center.
The Equestrian Center, the first amenity built in Laguna Woods Village, has a rich and storied history that continues to thrive today. This charming and unique facility offers a range of activities, from boarding resident-owned horses to providing variety of lessons for residents and their sponsored guests on GRF horses.. Residents are also welcome to participate in the weekly horsemanship class. Whether you are a seasoned rider or a horse enthusiast, the Equestrian Center is the perfect place to connect with like-minded individuals and enjoy the great outdoors. The Saddle Club, formed in 1966, has been at the heart of this community, promoting interest in horses and horsemanship, encouraging riding programs, and hosting delightful social events for members and guests.
The club’s members volunteer to support the Equestrian Center’s fall Harvest Hoedown and Easter celebrations, just to name a few activities. In addition, the club offers summer barbeques that bring joy and camaraderie to all participants. These events are announced in the Laguna Woods Globe, ensuring everyone stays informed and involved.
But the Saddle Club is more than just fun and games. It plays a crucial role in supporting the Equestrian Center through various projects and activities. Proceeds from Saddle Club activities go to Equestrian Center projects and programs, ensuring the horses receive essential items for the best care possible. Recent major contributions were: stall fans to keep the horses cool during the summer, shade covers in paddocks and new footing for the round pen. Members of the Saddle Club are an integral part of the Equestrian Center community, contributing to its success and vibrancy.
Joining the Saddle Club means becoming part of a passionate and dedicated group of individuals who love horses and are committed to supporting our Equestrian Center. Whether you are a resident or a boarder at the Equestrian Center, the Saddle Club offers a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, engage in meaningful activities, and give back to the community. Residents are welcome to drop by the Hospitality Room at the Equestrian Center at 10 a.m., the first Tuesday/month to participate in the club’s meetings.
So, what are you waiting for? Saddle up and join the Saddle Club of Laguna Woods Village today!
