Recognizing the importance of tech-savviness for seniors, the Florence Sylvester Senior Center, in partnership with Age Well, has launched a Technology Help Lab specifically designed for seniors. This initiative offers tailored tech assistance that empowers seniors to navigate the digital world with confidence.

Comprehensive Tech Support Sessions

The Technology Help Lab provides three distinct support sessions each catering to different needs and devices, ensuring that all seniors can find help that resonates with their tech challenges:

  1. Drop-In Tech Help:
    • When: Second Friday of every month, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
    • Sponsor: MemorialCare Medical Group with Jose Juarez
    • Details: A welcoming, open session where seniors can get assistance with any device they own. From smartphones to tablets, all devices are welcome.
  2. iPhone/iPad Clinic:
    • When: Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Reservation required)
    • Instructor: Don Truhill
    • Focus: Exclusively for Apple products, this clinic helps seniors master their iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and Apple Watches, enhancing their user experience and ensuring they make the most out of their Apple devices.
  3. Smartphone & Laptop Assistance:
    • When: Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. (Reservation required)
    • Instructor: Ken Samantha of Humana
    • Details: Focused on Android phones, PC laptops, and Microsoft applications, this session is perfect for seniors seeking to understand more about their non-Apple devices and software.
