Step back in time with the new exhibit, “Constructing the Village,” at the Laguna Woods History Center! Located next to the Village library, this exhibit celebrates the early days of what is now Laguna Woods Village, marking the community’s vibrant 60-year history.
A Nostalgic Journey
Explore fascinating artifacts from the 1960s, including a rotary telephone, a Smith-Corona typewriter, and elegant dishes used at early banquets. Discover the story of the first ten families who moved in on September 10, 1964, and see a collection of fossils found during the Village’s construction.
Colorful Memories
Curated by Gail Dixon, the exhibit is bursting with color and nostalgia. Highlights include the “Gold Medallion Home” badges from the era, showcasing the modern electrical appliances of the time, and the charming welcome gifts given to new homeowners.
Join the Celebration
Running through August, this exhibit is the second in a series celebrating our community’s 60th anniversary. Don’t miss your chance to relive these cherished moments!
