As residents of Laguna Woods Village, if you are living in a co-op, your vote in the upcoming United Board election is a vital part of shaping our community’s future. The decisions made by the board impact our daily lives, from community services to maintenance policies. Therefore, it is essential to participate in the election process to ensure that your voice is heard and your preferences are represented.
This year, the election will fill four board positions, with terms ending in 2027. These positions are critical, as the board members work together to make decisions that affect the quality of life in our community. Upcoming Schedule:
- Friday, August 23, 2024: “Meet the Candidates” event will be held in the Community Center board room and broadcast on Village Television at 10:30 a.m. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the candidates and their visions for our community.
- Tuesday, August 27, 2024: Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters.
- Thursday, September 26, 2024: All ballots must be received by the inspector of elections. They are due by 11 a.m. to the inspector of elections’ post office box or by 5 p.m. to the Community Center ballot box.
- Friday, September 27, 2024: Ballots will be counted at a United board special tabulation meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Center board room.
- Tuesday, October 8, 2024: The newly elected United Mutual candidates will be seated on the United board at the annual corporate members meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.
If You Experience Ballot Issues:
Should you not receive your ballot by Monday, September 9, 2024, or if your ballot is lost or damaged, please contact the UniLect inspector of elections duplicate request center at 1-866-466-6455, available 24/7 during the balloting period. For any other election-related inquiries, reach out to the Inspector of Elections, UniLect Corporation, at 1-888-864-5328. Remember, only one ballot is mailed per household/manor, in accordance with state HOA election regulations.
