It’s that time of year again, Laguna Woods residents! The Third Mutual Board elections are coming up, and it’s time to start considering new candidates. Your vote is important in shaping the future of our community, so be sure to participate in the election process. This year, three board positions are up for election, with terms lasting until 2027. The following candidates are running for these positions, bringing a range of experiences and perspectives to the table:

Upcoming Schedule:
- Friday, August 16, 2024: “Meet the Candidates” event will take place in the Community Center board room and will also be broadcast on Village Television at 10:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their plans and priorities.
- Tuesday, August 27, 2024: Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters. Please ensure your mailing address is up-to-date to receive your ballot on time.
- Thursday, September 26, 2024: The deadline for submitting ballots is 11 a.m. to the inspector of elections’ post office box or 5 p.m. to the Community Center ballot box. Make sure your voice is heard by submitting your ballot before these deadlines.
- Friday, September 27, 2024: Ballots will be counted at a special tabulation meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room. The results will be crucial in determining the new board composition.
- Thursday, October 3, 2024: The candidates with the most votes will be officially seated on the Third board during the annual corporate members meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.

If you do not receive your ballot by Monday, September 9, 2024, or if your ballot is lost or damaged, please contact inspector of elections duplicate request center at 1-866-466-6455. This service is available 24/7 throughout the balloting period. For any other election-related inquiries, you can reach the Inspector of Elections, UniLect Corporation, at 1-888-864-5328. Please note, in accordance with state HOA election regulations, only one ballot is mailed per household/manor.
